my sewing machine has been quite busy lately!  

we found a great new kitchen table, but the chairs have cloth seats.  

(alarm bells ringing?!?!)

after perusing pinterest and taking into account my own smallish sewing knowledge, i imagined up my own version of slip covers, made a pattern....

and am happy with how they turned out!!  

four have these covers....

the two that stay in the office most of the time have these covers...

success, right?

i was feeling pretty good about myself and had some extra fabric, so i made a pillow and it looked pretty good!!

then i found the pillow....

he knows what he did.

i bet martha stewart doesn't get this mess from her dog.

good grief.

anyway...

with a little more humility, i made the kids each something for their birthdays.

eli got a cozy cone motel room (a.k.a. garage)...

grampy made ava a bunk bed for her animals and i painted it and made sleeping bag bedding.  

the bags roll up into backpacks that the animals can wear when they are on the go!
