i was part of a mom/women's book club, but our lives are all busy and sometimes reading the book felt more like homework or an obligation than fun. so we chucked our book club (for now), deciding to focus on our daughters. i saw a blog post about a group of mother/daughter readers that stayed together from elementary through high school. how cool is that?!?! ideally, the books we choose can mold our daughter's hearts and give us a great platform for difficult conversations.
at the beginning, though, we plan to focus on the love of reading and having fun learning together.
ava and i hosted the inaugural meeting with Dr. Seuss's
I Can Read With My Eyes Shut. to kick things off, we had a photo shoot, where all the girls got to dress up and say cheese! it would be really cool if the group stuck together and laughed at these in the years to come.
here are our favorites...
and not to be left out...
april's book is about butterflies!!
