a day out with thomas

we piled mema and papa into the car with us and drove in the pouring rain to the nc transportation museum to see thomas the train!!

the rain stopped when we got there!!

we walked around the museum a bit, collecting stamps and seeing the sights...

i include the next (random) photo because this was quite possibly the highlight of eli's day....

we got back in the car and it started pouring again!!

our train adventure was so much fun!!

ava's new smile

three weeks ago ava noticed she had a loose tooth and was S.O. excited.  it turned out she had two loose (which doubled the excitement, obviously!)  this meant she would get "adult" teeth soon and anything "adult" is amazing!!

she called connor to discuss the ins and outs of it all and get the scoop on how much it hurts, the tooth fairy, etc.  (aren't older cousins great?!)

i picked her up at school yesterday to a very wide, toothless smile.

she was bubbly the rest of the day, preparing her tooth for the tooth fairy and just reminiscing about the "fall out."

to her delight, the fairy left her a heart-shaped dollar bill hugging a quarter (crafty little thing, isn't she?!).

she's already talking about the next one!

this big man had his first day in "ms. danielle's" 3 year old preschool class!

he had a great first day!!!

...

wait.  both kids in school?  almost three HOURS to myself?

hour #1: it was so quiet in the house and i felt like something important was missing or forgotten.

hour #2: jog & uninterrupted shower!  (very nice!)

hour #3: errands without "help!"  (also very nice!)

though it was nice to have some time alone, i was ready to have the kids home from school.
