going bananas already?

yesterday ava asked to go to school...
.
i'm glad she likes school, but isn't summer supposed to be better? she didn't love going to school during the year, so something must be up. i took it personally!! perhaps she's bored...already!?

in my defense, we have had a few slow weeks. ava has decided going to the potty isn't so bad anymore so we've been sticking close to home practicing (sigh of relief! there has been none of the previous potty drama!).
.
so this morning i decided to mix things up...
.
we made chocolate banana popsicles. i remember making these as a kid once and loving it! one of our rarely used champagne glass was perfect for the job (why did we ever think we needed 12?).
ava thought it was quite important to test out the chocolate before we froze them...i agreed that this is always a good idea...
after lunch we each enjoyed one. eli was the most efficient eater (not surprising!). he loved his first taste of chocolate...
the morning's second project was making this cape for ava...
i added ribbon and trim to one of her baby blankets that was collecting dust in her closet. i'm thinking she will be able to fly higher and faster now that she has the right equipment....

to sum up, i've used sweets and gifts to bribe my children into having a fun morning. i haven't heard any complaints...

take that preschool...
