courage & crazy

the kids and i spent part of our weekend in charlotte playing with cousins. we spent much time at the pool! as with much of their personality, my children look at water very differently. ava slowly got comfortable in the water, then slowly moved up the slide backwards practicing smaller slides until she slid down the whole thing (finally getting her hair wet!!)
eli on the other hand thinks he's a fish and dunks himself under the water for fun, not knowing or caring that he can't breathe under there. needless to say, he needed all the safety devices available...
without the tube, he climbed up the slide backwards, loved all the splashing and even learned a new trick!! i'll leave you in suspense about the trick...hoping katie can upload the video for me to share soon!

ava "slept" with caroline and madeline. when madeline went to bed a while after the little girls, she found them still up playing (sneakily quietly). both girls had bracelets up to their knees with a large, fun mess of jewelry around them.
