we hiked in the snow in vail...

saw red rocks amphitheatre...

strolled around downtown denver and area parks...
and our main mission was to get on a 14er, that's a mountain over 14,000 feet....
the weather wasn't perfect, but we strapped on our snowshoes and started up. once we got a bit over the tree line (mid 12,000's) we had to turn around due to weather (even the hiking pros were turning around so we didn't feel too bad!). half the people we ran into out there were hiking up and skiing down!! crazy!!! it was a fun experience and i definitely fell in love with snowshoeing!! the views weren't bad either...
colorado is beautiful...and i say that even though we barely got a glimpse at the peaks!! i love the speed of life there and the blatant focus on living life outdoors. most of all, i loved hanging out with our friends, catching up on life and experiencing God's awesome creation together!!
.
on our way to the airport (with clear skies, of course), we got a picture from their neighborhood with pike's peak in the background...
