a week at the beach

when preston mentioned he needed some continuing education credits with an optional location of kiawah island it didn't take long to plan a family trip around his classes. quality family time has been scarce lately so we decided to "log off" as much as possible and soak up a week of family, fun and sun. it was amazing....
.
we rode bikes...

hunted for (and found!) treasure on the beach...

flew a kite...

danced to the rhythm of the ocean...

visited the aquarium in charleston...

swam in the (heated!) pool...

relaxed and enjoyed each other...

and my favorite picture...

they look so peaceful...

until you see eli's face, full of sand, which he shovelled in his mouth by the handful.

...and my vacation project, a panda bear puppet, turned out quite well!! all of my previous knitting projects only required straight lines, so i'm pretty proud of myself!! (a big thanks to courtney for the idea book and lucia for the confidence!!)
