i got my love for photography from my dad. last november (2009) he and i were mulling over what to do with his large stash of slides that included pictures taken from the 50's - 80's. the cardboard around them was starting to disintegrate and the slide itself was starting to warp a bit. our plan was to scan the slides to make them digital (and do a better job keeping up with technology in the future!) i say "our plan," but really it was "my plan," with financial backing and encouragement from dad. 1,332 slides. i sorted, scanned (4 at a time), renamed by date, cropped out the deteriorated edges, and sorted again. when i thought i was done (in december) i realized about a quarter of the scans were being over-written because they were the same date and file name as previous scans. since i was working in small batches i never realized i'd have doubles or triples, though it makes sense since he'd develop more than one roll at a time. anyway. huge bummer. i tweaked out enough pictures to make a surprise slideshow for my family for christmas, but only just finished finding the over-written files and scanning them in again.
but i'm done now.
finally finished.
and it was worth it!

there has been much debate over the years about WHO put toothpaste in dad's shoes. he can't remember. the latest culprit has been me (it goes back and forth...) i think i have found visual evidence that it was NOT me that put the toothpaste in dad's shoes. it doesn't take sherlock to figure this out, but i'll review my obvious theory. .
3 reasons why KATIE DID IT:
.
1. if dad can't remember, it was a LONG time ago. kate turned 33 this week. i'm younger. enough said.
.
2.
here's katie IN THE CLOSET, looking pleased but caught. is her hand hiding the toothpaste in the bag? this picture isn't great, which means it was taken in a hurry, trying to catch the moment (or the culprit?)

3. it's more likely this one did it...

than this cute cherub...
obvious it was her, right?!.
thanks for walking down memory lane with me!!

I have to admit this was a cute blog. And it made me laugh OUT LOUD! You were definately ALIVE when the toothpaste was discovered in dad's shoes. Your evidence doesn't support that fact as I'm too young and innocently cute in said pictures. Nice try little sister! Love it!
So cute Kris. I laughed as well. I think this does show that Katie was into the closet and shoe thing AND the other evidence is that Katie as well got into my iron with a friend in the same said area and turned on the iron that scortched the carpet. There does seem to be a pattern of experimentation and I am so thankful no one was hurt. MOM
oh my gosh! kristi. those photos are so kool. the photo that you said was your favorite, of your mom and dad.. i LOVE it too!
and good job finding out who put toothpaste in the shoes. (i mean, was there ever a doubt?)
AND i always thought in photos, eli looks like preston. but WOW!! i cant believe how much like you he looks. and, how much katie looks like your mom!!
