ava and i went to the library yesterday to return some books. after saying goodbye to each title individually and slipping them reluctantly into the return slot, we went to the locally-owned coffee shop for a mocha (my special treat on library days). my hands/arms were full and ava was curious to wander around the shop so it was a bit tricky to pay and reorganize my arms to accommodate a hot, yummy beverage. before leaving i saw a sign that many of you will find funny (especially if you are remembering a time when you had your hands full, both literally and figuratively with a toddler...for some of you this isn't a distant memory!). the sign read:
"any child left unattended will be given an espresso and a puppy"
i laughed out loud...
