we had been waiting all summer for this trip and it did not disappoint!! we went down to pawley's island for a week, half of which included my parents and great gram. the weather was pretty steamy but we made the most of it!! we would walk out on the beach and ava would raise and wave her arm once and say "ocean" like she understood the vastness of what was in front of her. she liked walking in the water but wasn't so sure about playing in the sand.

one of our favorite things was tubing the lazy river!
we took a bike ride to a nearby state park which had an old castle right on the beach. it started raining when we got there so we toured the castle and snacked on gold fish in hopes the rain would stop. it didn't. we rode back in the pouring rain!!! ava didn't mind the rain. it was definitely an unexpected adventure!
when we got back to our dry condo where it hadn't rained a drop, we saw a rainbow from the direction of the park!
